Which AI can draw a Thermomix? Neither, yet

Problem

Last time Gemini went seven for seven and I promised to give it something harder. So I did. Ten more tasks through Claude, plus a pile of 3D furniture I asked for directly in Antigravity, with Claude cleaning up after it. Two models this time: Gemini 3.1 Pro and 3.8 Flash High.

Result

Honestly? Not bad. But the bigger the task, the harder it fell over. Ten tasks through Claude: six correction rounds and one takeover, versus zero rounds for the first seven.

The furniture was mostly fine once Claude had a go at it. The Thermomix was not. Three rounds in, it was still a lumpy box that looked like nothing, so I gave up and had Claude drop in a ready-made model. That was the pattern with most objects — everything came out boxy and angular, nothing you would recognise from the kitchen.

Which model is better at 3D? No idea yet. The one clear win was 3.8 Flash High on a spice rack: it looked right after the first round of fixes, where Pro never really got there.

And the whole point — saving my Claude limit? Running Gemini through Claude, I did not really feel it. Maybe a bit. Nothing worth writing home about.

Story

Still testing. So far 3.8 Flash makes the best 3D models, and they are still not good. Claude, on the other hand, is just better at code — and at not breaking things on the way. It is the more stable of the two, and that is what I like about it most.
